Two extra spaces when copying from Claude

A small annoyance with a simple fix

I really like the terminal interface that Claude Code has. It looks nice and is easy to read, but there's one small annoyance I frequently hit.

For working with code or text documents, it makes the edits for me, but I sometimes want to grab a portion of what it generated and paste it elsewhere. Maybe it's a comment for a GitHub issue, a message to drop in Slack, or something else it doesn't have access to.

Now that nice terminal interface poses a problem. My copied text has two extra spaces of indentation on every line. It's a small thing, but cleaning that up gets tedious.

My simple workaround is to instead ask Claude to put the result on my clipboard for me. On a Mac, Claude invokes pbcopy and now the content is clean and ready to paste anywhere.

This solution works great, but tomorrow I'll share a slightly more advanced approach that I've come to like even better.

Here to help,

Joel
